Internet Ungovernance Forum What?
Internet Governance Forum 2014 will be held in Istanbul between September 2-5. Interested parties all around the world will join and follow this important event. As internet turns to be an important part of our lives, this event becomes more important for us.
But we see that most urgent problems of the internet doesn’t get the interest it deserves. We think the most urgent problems are censorship and freedom of speech, surveillance and privacy, excessive commercialization and super-monopolies; protective, prohibitionist and conservative approaches; awful governance examples like Turkey’s etc.. Also, the perpetrators of those problems, governments and corporations, are getting representation they didn’t deserve. In a situation like this, we thought that we should do something to defend the internet as we know it and help people like us to raise their voice.
That’s why we’re organizing Internet Ungovernance Forum at the same times with IGF, September 4-5, for people who demand a free, secure and neutral internet to come together. We’ll talk about the real problems of the internet and how we can solve these and take action about it.
If you want a free, secure and neutral internet and you’re fighting for it, we’re asking you to join and support us.
